Tehran, Aug. 7, IRNA -- Ahmad Zeidabadi, a writer working with the
Tehran-based daily Hamshahri was detained here Monday morning on an
order issued by judicial officials.
Zeidabadi who also worked with other periodicals was taken away by
a group of more than 10 people who said they were acting on behalf of
the court dealing with offences committed by government employees.
Mahdiyeh Mohammadi, Zeidabadi's wife, told IRNA that the group
searched their house thoroughly and took with them some of writings
and documents belonging to his husband.
Meanwhile, Judge Saeed Mortazavi, who is in charge of a press
court, confirming the detention of Zeidabadi said he was arrested
because he had defied an earlier call to report to the court.
